Hormone Panel
The hormone panel evaluates the endocrine system — the network of glands that produce hormones regulating energy, mood, body composition, sleep, libido, and reproductive function. Hormonal imbalances are among the most underdiagnosed drivers of fatigue, weight gain, and reduced quality of life, especially as levels naturally decline with age.
What This Panel Screens For
Testosterone deficiency (hypogonadism), estrogen dominance or deficiency, adrenal dysfunction (cortisol), PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), infertility, perimenopause and menopause, andropause (male hormone decline), thyroid-hormone interactions, and pituitary gland disorders (LH, FSH, prolactin).
Biomarkers Included
When To Get This Panel
When experiencing fatigue, low libido, erectile dysfunction, mood changes, unexplained weight gain, muscle loss, hot flashes, irregular periods, infertility, or hair loss. Men over 40 and women over 35 should consider baseline testing. Essential before and during hormone replacement therapy (HRT/TRT).
Recommended Frequency
Annually for adults over 40 as part of preventive screening. Every 3-6 months when on hormone replacement therapy until levels stabilize. Women with menstrual irregularities should test on day 3 of their cycle for accurate LH/FSH/estradiol assessment.
How GATOR Normalizes Across Lab Vendors
GATOR standardizes hormone reference ranges across Function Health, LabCorp, and Quest, and adjusts for sex and age. Lab vendors often report very wide "normal" ranges (e.g., total testosterone 264-916 ng/dL for men) that include both a 25-year-old athlete and a 75-year-old. GATOR applies age-decade-adjusted optimal ranges so your results are compared against peers, not the entire adult population.
