Cardiovascular
Non-HDL Cholesterol
Non-HDL cholesterol includes all cholesterol carried by atherogenic particles: LDL, VLDL, IDL, and Lp(a). It is calculated as Total Cholesterol minus HDL-C.
Many guidelines now recommend non-HDL as a secondary target after LDL-C, as it captures the full spectrum of atherogenic lipoproteins.
What It Measures
Total cholesterol minus HDL cholesterol — all potentially harmful cholesterol.
