Globulin

Globulins are a group of proteins including immunoglobulins (antibodies), complement proteins, and transport proteins. Elevated globulin often indicates chronic inflammation, autoimmune conditions, or chronic infection.

The Albumin/Globulin (A/G) ratio is clinically significant — a low ratio may indicate overproduction of globulins (myeloma, autoimmune) or underproduction of albumin (liver disease).

What It Measures

Total globulin proteins in blood (calculated: total protein minus albumin).
